How much does digital marketing cost in India?
Most Indian agencies will not tell you a number until you sit through a sales call. Here is the honest range, and what actually moves the price up or down.
Why there is no single price
"Digital marketing" is not one product. It is a bucket that holds SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, social media, content and website work. An agency quoting Rs 8,000 a month and one quoting Rs 80,000 are usually not doing the same thing at all.
Typical ranges in India (2026)
- Local SEO (Google Business Profile, reviews, local pages): Rs 8,000 – Rs 20,000 per month
- SEO and AEO (technical, content, links): Rs 15,000 – Rs 60,000 per month
- Google Ads management: Rs 10,000 – Rs 30,000 per month, plus ad spend
- Meta Ads management: Rs 10,000 – Rs 25,000 per month, plus ad spend
- Social media (12–20 posts, some reels): Rs 10,000 – Rs 35,000 per month
- Website design: Rs 25,000 – Rs 1,50,000 one-time
Advertising spend is always separate. If someone quotes you "Rs 20,000 all inclusive including ads", either the ad budget is tiny or the management fee is being hidden inside it.
What actually changes the price
1. Competition in your niche
Ranking a dentist in a small town and ranking a personal loan brand are not the same job. The harder the keywords, the more content and links it takes.
2. How many pages you have
A 5-page site needs far less work than a 200-page e-commerce catalogue.
3. Whether you have any history
A brand new domain with no links takes longer than one that has been around for years.
4. How fast you can approve things
Agency delays are usually client delays. If content sits waiting for approval for three weeks, the timeline stretches.
The Rs 5,000-a-month trap
Very cheap retainers usually mean one of three things: the work is done by an intern with a template, the "backlinks" are spam, or nothing is done and you get a PDF report.
We have seen sites get hit with hundreds of junk links from packages sold as "1,000 backlinks for Rs 500". Those links do not help you rank. At best Google ignores them. At worst they create a problem you have to clean up later.
What a fair quote looks like
- A clear list of what is included, and what is not
- Who does the work, and how often you hear from them
- How success will be measured — calls, forms, WhatsApp messages — not "impressions"
- A realistic timeline, with the honest caveat that SEO takes months
- No guarantee of rankings, because nobody can guarantee rankings
